IGCC is staffed by the Fiscal Affairs at the School of Global Policy and Strategy at UC San Diego.
Fiscal Affairs provides administrative support for the school's externally funded research projects, including project management, pre-award and post-award fiscal oversight, assistance with the human subjects review process, event and conference planning and marketing and editorial support.

Misty Cervantes Nguyen is the business officer of the Fiscal Affairs, which provides specialized professional sponsored research staff services to IGCC, PDEL and other institutes under the School of Global Policy and Strategy. Cervantes Nguyen supervises and manages all programmatic and fiscal activities of the Fiscal Affairs and serves as principal advisor to the directors. Cervantes Nguyen received her Master of Pacific International Affairs from the School of Global Policy and Strategy at UC San Diego.

Darren Cunningham is responsible for pre- and post-award administration for IGCC, PDEL and other institutes under the School of Global Policy and Strategy. Prior to joining UC San Diego, Cunningham was a senior program associate on the Jordan program and a subawards assistant at the International Republican Institute. He holds an M.A. in Middle East studies from George Washington University and a B.A. in history from American University.

Essma Eweida is a project manager for the School of Global Policy and Strategy. She manages financial accounts for faculty and works with them to develop and support their research projects. Prior to joining the team, Essma was a program coordinator and an academic advisor for the Global Leadership Institute at the School. Essma obtained a bachelor's degree in Political Science with a minor in Human Rights from UC San Diego and a master’s degree in International Relations from the University of San Diego. Essma is fluent in Arabic and has extensive international experience from living and working abroad.
Conference and Fiscal Specialist

Hope Fasching provides conference and fiscal affairs support for the team. Prior to joining UC San Diego’s School of Global Policy and Strategy, Fasching conducted nuclear security research at the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at the Harvard Kennedy School. She has also worked at institutions and think tanks in Washington, D.C., including the National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism (START) and the Nuclear Threat Initiative (NTI). Fasching holds a B.A. in political science from UCLA.
Lindsay Morgan is managing editor of communications for the Institute on Global Conflict and Cooperation (IGCC), a UC-wide think tank specializing in research and policy engagement on international security, economic development, health, and the environment. She also serves as managing editor for the award-winning online magazine Political Violence @ A Glance. Lindsay specializes in policy and research communications, communications strategy, publications management, and writing and editing. Before joining IGCC, she worked with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the World Bank, Broad Branch Associates (USAID-funded projects), and the Center for Global Development, and consulted with the University of Washington, Results for Development, VillageReach, and the William & Flora Hewlett Foundation, among others. A San Diego native, Lindsay spent a decade in Washington, D.C.; was based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania while working for the World Bank; and has worked in Afghanistan, Burundi, Indonesia, Kenya, Uganda, Liberia, Malawi, Mozambique, South Sudan, and Zambia. She studied history as an undergraduate, and earned an M.A. in politics at the University of Durham, U.K.

Deb Ogle joined the shared services team as the conference and fiscal assistant in July 2016. Previously, she was with the facilities and fiscal group at the School of Global Policy and Strategy and was an administrative coordinator for the Radiology Department at UC San Diego. Ogle also has extensive experience in the restaurant industry.

Marie Thiveos Stewart provides project management support to IGCC, PDEL and other institutes under the School of Global Policy and Strategy. Prior to joining the team, Thiveos Stewart coordinated non-degree programs at the Global Leadership Institute at the School. She holds a B.A. in international studies from UC San Diego and an M.Ed. in higher education from Pennsylvania State University.
