How to Find IGCC

IGCC is hosted by UC San Diego's School of Global Policy and Strategy. IGCC's main office is in the Robinson Building Complex. The reception area is located in room 1229.

Driving Directions from North of UC San Diego

  1. Take I-5 southbound past the 5/805 split.
  2. Take Genesee Avenue exit westbound (right off freeway).
  3. Take Genesee Avenue to North Torrey Pines Road (second stoplight).
  4. Turn left on North Torrey Pines. You will be heading south.
  5. Turn left on Pangea Drive.
  6. The Pangea parking structure is on your left. There is visitor parking on the top floor. 

Driving Directions from South of UC San Diego/Lindbergh Field

  1. Take I-5 northbound.
  2. Take La Jolla Village Drive westbound (left off freeway).
  3. La Jolla Village Drive turns into North Torrey Pines Road. Stay on it to Pangea Drive.
  4. Turn right on Pangea Drive.
The Pangea parking structure is on your left. There is visitor parking on the top floor.

Parking at UC San Diego

All visitors to the campus are required to display a valid parking pass.

The closest visitor parking for IGCC is on top floor of the Pangea parking structure.

Parking passes can be purchased from machines located in the parking structure.

Staff

IGCC is staffed by the Fiscal Affairs at the School of Global Policy and Strategy at UC San Diego.

SSC provides administrative support for the school's externally funded research projects, including project management, pre-award and post-award fiscal oversight, assistance with the human subjects review process, event and conference planning and marketing and editorial support.

  • Misty CERVANTES NGUYEN

    Misty Cervantes Nguyen is the business officer of the Fiscal Affairs, which provides specialized professional sponsored research staff services to IGCC, PDEL and other institutes under the School of Global Policy and Strategy. Cervantes Nguyen supervises and manages all programmatic and fiscal activities of the Fiscal Affairs and serves as principal advisor to the directors. Cervantes Nguyen received her Master of Pacific International Affairs from the School of Global Policy and Strategy at UC San Diego.

  • Darren CUNNINGHAM

    Research Administrator

    Darren Cunningham is responsible for pre- and post-award administration for IGCC, PDEL and other institutes under the School of Global Policy and Strategy. Prior to joining UC San Diego, Cunningham was a senior program associate on the Jordan program and a subawards assistant at the International Republican Institute. He holds an M.A. in Middle East studies from George Washington University and a B.A. in history from American University.

    Conference and Fiscal Specialist

    Hope Fasching provides conference and fiscal affairs support for the team. Prior to joining UC San Diego’s School of Global Policy and Strategy, Fasching conducted nuclear security research at the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at the Harvard Kennedy School. She has also worked at institutions and think tanks in Washington, D.C., including the National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism (START) and the Nuclear Threat Initiative (NTI). Fasching holds a B.A. in political science from UCLA.

  • Lindsay MORGAN

    Lindsay Morgan is the managing editor overseeing communications strategy, management and the editorial development of a wide range of research and policy-based communications for IGCC. She also manages the award-winning online magazine, Political Violence @ A Glance. Morgan has worked on policy and research communications, communications strategy and publication management with the William & Flora Hewlett Foundation, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, World Bank, U.S. Agency for International Development and Center for Global Development, among others. A San Diego native, Morgan spent a decade in Washington, D.C.; lived in Tanzania while working for the World Bank; and has worked in Afghanistan, Burundi, Indonesia, Kenya, Uganda, Liberia, Malawi, Mozambique, South Sudan, Tanzania and Zambia. She studied history as an undergraduate, and politics at the University of Durham in the United Kingdom as a graduate student.
  • Deborah OGLE

    Conference and Fiscal Assistant

    Deb Ogle joined the shared services team as the conference and fiscal assistant in July 2016. Previously, she was with the facilities and fiscal group at the School of Global Policy and Strategy and was an administrative coordinator for the Radiology Department at UC San Diego. Ogle also has extensive experience in the restaurant industry. 

  • Sylvia PLUMMER

    Research Administrator, Analyst

    Sylvia Plummer is responsible for pre- and post-award administration for IGCC, PDEL and other institutes under the School of Global Policy and Strategy. Prior to joining the team, she worked with UC San Diego health sciences for 12 years in human resources and fund management. Plummer completed her B.S. in business administration and minor in computer information systems from San Francisco State University. In addition to English, she is fluent in Cantonese Chinese. 

  • Vanessa POOL

    Project Manager

    Vanessa Pool provides project management support to IGCC, PDEL and other institutes under the School of Global Policy and Strategy. Prior to joining the team, she worked on international research projects and program development at the UC San Diego Qualcomm Institute. Pool holds an M.A. in American studies from Boston University and a B.A. in history and American studies from UC Berkeley. 

  • Marie THIVEOS STEWART

    Marie Thiveos Stewart provides project management support to IGCC, PDEL and other institutes under the School of Global Policy and Strategy. Prior to joining the team, Thiveos Stewart coordinated non-degree programs at the Global Leadership Institute at the School. She holds a B.A. in international studies from UC San Diego and an M.Ed. in higher education from Pennsylvania State University.
