IGCC and the Policy Community

IGCC disseminates UC research results through policy briefings, seminars, and conferences held at UCDC and around Washington, D.C. Participants include representatives from the U.S. government, foreign governments, nongovernmental organizations, international organizations, think tanks, foundations, and universities at home and abroad.

UC experts provide testimony to Congress, brief federal agencies, and consult with practitioners. IGCC seeks to work closely with the U.S. Congress, both the House and the Senate, and in particular with the California Congressional delegation. IGCC's Washington office can provide Congress with expert testimony, member and staff briefings, and publications on many security and cooperation related topics, including:

  • Global climate change
  • Transborder environmental issues
  • Middle East policy
  • Northeast Asia security cooperation
  • Terrorism
  • Nuclear issues in South Asia
  • Critical infrastructure protection
  • International health diplomacy
  • Biosecurity
