Courtenay Conrad is an associate professor of political science at the University of California, Merced. Her primary research and teaching interests include political violence, human rights, international organizations, and comparative political institutions. The majority of her work focuses on how executives make decisions regarding state repression in the face of domestic and international institutional constraints.
She received her MS and PhD in political science from Florida State University.
Conrad’s research has been published in the American Political Science Review, American Journal of Political Science, Journal of Politics, International Studies Quarterly, Journal of Conflict Resolution, and Journal of Peace Research, among others.
