Since
1983, IGCC has proudly funded dissertation
fellows from all University of California campuses. Our funding has
encompassed many disciplines, including political science, economics,
sociology, anthropology, history, communications, urban development, legal
studies, philosophy, geography, agricultural resource economics, environmental
studies, energy resources, and religious studies. Look up all of the fellows,

1997–98 IGCC MacArthur Fellows in Regional Relations,
Newport Beach California, May 1998.
From 1994 to 1999, the IGCC
graduate fellowship program benefited from a generous $750,000 grant from the
John D. & Catherine T. MacArthur
Foundation. The grant was dedicated solely to building teams of junior
scholars to address the issues of regional relations and international
environmental problems. The IGCC MacArthur Scholars Program sponsored more
than forty-four fellowships and afforded the students unique opportunities
to present their research findings
in front of senior scholars, policy experts, and
governmental and non-governmental representatives at an early stage in their
academic careers.
Additionally, IGCC has
sponsored working groups of fellows. Students have led a group or worked
closely with a faculty mentor to set up meetings and have organized research
seminars. Some students have built long-term relationships with IGCC and
still participate
in IGCC research
projects after they have moved on to permanent faculty appointments.
